A Leaf By The Name of Marijuana Eases The Side Effects of Cancer?!?

Note: This picture is a Cannabis plant. It is close up to 6 weeks of growth.

In a city like San Francisco, it is hard to say that one has never been exposed to the smell of marijuana. Marijuana which is another name for cannabis is a controversial issue everywhere in the United States. There are people who are pro-cannabis and those that are against it. From an outsider’s point of view, with no cannabis experience, I believe cannabis should only be prescribed by doctors. Cancer patients who will benefit from cannabis should be able to use it.
Cannabis is an interesting topic to me because over my summer break, I came upon a documentary about cannabis that changed my whole perception about it. I always thought that marijuana was bad and that people were just using it to become stress free. However, once I became educated about how cannabis can ease the side effects of cancer, my whole perspective about cannabis changed. As I watched the documentary, I thought of so many questions that I wanted answers to. Thankfully, I did manage to find some answers to my questions.
Cannabis is a plant used to produce hemp fiber and a mildly psychotropic drug. It is a genus of flowering plants that includes three putative species - Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, and Cannabis ruderalis. Cannabis is believed to be a cure for cancer and other medical problems by patients, doctors, and researchers. However, I don’t believe that cannabis cures cancer but rather it eases the side effects of cancer. The difference between cure and ease is: cure expresses the course of a remedial treatment whereas ease describes a medical treatment that causes side effects to be less painful. Cannabis can ease the pain of cancer and it is such a powerful drug that no one should abuse it.
Doctors have a right to refuse or to prescribe cannabis to any of their patients. In my ten blogs, I hope to succeed in explaining what cannabis is, the side effects, how cannabis eases cancer, and how a doctor decides to prescribe cannabis to a patient. I wish to present many articles and include a video or two to educate my readers about cannabis. To do this, I will be analyzing the chemical interactions and effects on cancer.  In one or two blogs, I intend to show and explain some of the many mechanisms of cannabis through words and pictures.
I hope to provide a better understanding of why it shouldn’t be banned even if some people abuses it. In my blog, I will also introduce some patients that have their many reasons to use cannabis and share their thoughts or ideas of why they believe cannabis really works for them. I intend to add doctors’ opinion about deciding whether a patient will benefit from cannabis and if there is a limit for prescribing cannabis to their patients.
